The strange midnight imaginings of renowned local artist Alison Brown are just part of the creative inspiration making Close Focus an up close and personal exhibition.

‘For me art is intrinsic part of life. It is an important element of society, providing a means of developing a higher level of thinking, and awareness of the world in which we engage,’ says Alison Brown.

Alison Brown is no stranger to artistic success with many awards and public artworks to her name.

Opening 6 January 2012, Close Focus is the first exhibition to open in the Artgeo Gallery and the Shire of Busselton’s newly designed cultural precinct.

Teamed up with highly accomplished fellow artist Geoff Byrne, and his magnificently detailed botanical illustrations, Close Focus invites those with a discerning artistic eye for detail to ponder and marvel.

‘For me plants, insects, spiders, and tiny flowers reveal their astonishing beauty and sculptural details-all of which is reflected in my work,’ says Geoff Byrne.

Sharon Tassicker, the much respected curator of the Janet Holmes à Court art collection, is opening the exhibition.

Close Focus opens 6 p.m. 6 January 2012 at the Artgeo Gallery 7, Queen Street Busselton.
