Fresh from Biarritz in France, Bill Yeates is set to wow Busselton’s ArtGeo gallery goers.

“Elemental Blue” is the first solo exhibition in Australia for prolific artist Bill Yeates in four years. These large vibrant works are a part of Bill’s ongoing exploration of his two great passions: travel and surfing.

“I have been painting and exploring in the Pilbara and Kimberley since the early eighties. I find this enormous, largely unknown land, endlessly fascinating,” says Bill. While Bill now calls Yallingup home, he spends a large portion of his time ‘up north’ in his bid to capture the quiet physical and spiritual challenge of these remote locations.

Bill’s other passion, surfing is evident in his ocean paintings. These are observations of the transitory yet constant power and beauty of waves - all waves - from small anonymous beach breaks to legendary surf spots.

‘Elemental Blue’ is the latest in a string of exhibitions for Bill and will be on show at the ArtGeo Gallery, 6 Queen Street Busselton. The exhibition can be previewed on-line at www.bill-yeates.com.au and through the artgeo website.

The official opening at 6pm, 17th August is free and everyone is welcome. Wine by Will's Domain.

The exhibition continues through until 16th September. Gallery Hours are 10AM to 4PM.
